I’m not going to say steal someone else’s ideas, but I will say using them for inspiration is genius. And that’s what we’re doing with these seven great flash game menu screens. From clean simplicity to excellent tertiary animation these games have something special in the way they first present themselves. When you’re trying to influence someone to look at (and hopefully play) your game, first impressions are important. So use these guys as inspiration for some great splash screens.
The Last Stand 2

Great 3D Render with excellent animation and soft blurs to give a frightful ambient feel
Boxhead The Zombie Wars

I was always told in college, "A little red goes a long way." And it does. BoxHead's simple splash screen is organized and well designed. And for little lego-esque people… they scare the crap out of me.
Stormwinds 2: The Lost Campaigns

Excellent tertiary animation. Aircrafts slowly move right to left at different depths. And there's an occasional lightning flash that illuminates the screen. What can I say? Awesome.
Fancy Pants Adventure World 2

Yeah, doesn't make me get up a scream "GRAPHICAL GENIUS" either. But it's definitely sweet because you move Fancy Pants Man around in order to select where you want to go. It's different and it's cool
MasterMind World Conqueror

Looks futuristic… and the nice tertiary animation kinda gives you that take over the world feel. I think they succeeded in what they were looking for.
Portal Flash Game

Kinda like The Last Stand, good 3D rendering and field of depth makes this screen look nice. The menu is simple and the animation doesn't exist. But it works, and I like it.
Straw Hat Samurai

I love this art style. It's all nice and screams Flash! But what's cool is that our Straw Hat Samuri is constantly walking and the trees are moving. It's a clean, slick animation and it's awesome.
So the next game you make… you may want to consider the slick style of these games before you finalize your splash screen.
